Abram Street still very much targeted for lane reduction

The city’s list of streets slated for lane reduction to make way for bike paths (Thoroughfare Development Plan Update Recommended Network Changes) does not include several streets that were originally on the list, Abram Street among them.

Abram and several other streets were temporarily removed from the list after the city council received numerous citizen protests. Currently, city planners wish to minimize any opposition that might jeopardize the city-wide street/bike plan. Once the city-wide plan is approved by the city council, Abram Street and other similar streets will undergo “additional analysis” and be returned to 2 lane status.
